R. Pauline Burk

R. Pauline Burk, 89, of Manchester passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1923 in Knoxford, New Brunswick, Canada daughter of the late Wesley A. and Birdie A. (Reid) Burk. Pauline was employed as a Elementary School Teacher at Bowers School in Manchester for over 40 years and she was a member of the Connecticut Teacher’s Association. She was a founding and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester (FBCM) for more than 30 years. Her ministries at FBCM included: teaching Sunday School for adults and children, including summer Vacation Bible Study. She was also director of Operation Christmas Child and a member of the Missions committee for several years. Pauline also spent many years singing in the church choir. Ms. Burk left a deep spiritual legacy that will glorify God for years to come. Many members of FBCM have been profoundly impacted by her love for her savior and her teaching about Him. Pauline is survived by several cousins in Canada, her cousin William Reid of East Hartford and many wonderful care giving friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Manchester, 240 Hillstown Road, Manchester. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner, MA on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at 12 pm. There are no calling hours.
