Landa E. Duckrow, 94, of Suffield, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, in her own bed at home. She was born December 24, 1918 in Ware, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late John and Mary Gura, and lived in Suffield most of her life. She was employed at Hamilton Standard, and part time at Suffield Academy. Her primary roll was mother, homemaker, and Nana to her family. Landa was well known in the community for helping start and volunteering at the Second Chance Shop “Village for Families and Children” for over 55 years. She also was a member of the Garden Club, and volunteered in the Hathaway House gardens.She is survived by two sons Bradford Duckrow of New Haven and Richard N. Duckrow of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; one daughter Susan Ryerson of Washington D.C.; three grandchildren James, Jill, and Lisa; one great-granddaughter Sadie. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be Saturday November 9, at 10AM, at The Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-10AM. The burial will take place at 2PM at Russell Mount Cemetery, Russell, MA.
