WATERBURY — Mrs. Mary P. (Aston) Murphy, 73, of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at VITAS Inpatient Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a short illness. She was the loving wife of Carroll E. Murphy. Mary was born in Waterbury on May 3, 1940, daughter of the late George Aston and Dorothy Byron. She was raised by her grandparents, Lt. Edward Aston and his wife Eileen G. (Marsella) Aston. She attended St. Margaret’s Grammar School and Wilby High School. She worked at the W.D. Stanley, and was a domestic engineer at Southmayd Home in Waterbury for eight years. She loved the elderly ladies who resided there, and enjoyed doing all she could to keep them comfortable and happy.
