NAUGATUCK- Mr. Ronald Thomas Watson, 83 of Naugatuck, passed away early Tuesday morning April 29, 2014 at the Waterbury Hospital. Ron was born in Webster, Mass., October 9, 1031 and moved to Hanover, N.H. with his family. He was a graduate of Hanover High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. He retired from Uniroyal-Footwear Div. when the plant closed and then became an over the road long hall truck driver for Ryder Truck Services. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church where he served as a member of the Vestry, was a Lay Reader, and Minister of the Eucharist, bringing communion on a regular basis to elderly shut-ins and area Nursing Homes. He was a member of Shepherd-Salem Lodge # 78, A.F. & A.M. and enjoyed Motorcycling and off road cycling and fishing with many of his friends. He leaves his good friends, Michael and Anna Lineweber of Middlebury and Pamela Harris of Kansas City, MO and his Godchild, Michelle Lineweber. A Memorial Eucharist will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Naugatuck at a date and time to be announced. Burial will be in Southford Cemetery, Southbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 210 Church St., Naugatuck 06770-4120.
