WATERBURY, CT – Mrs. Ann R. McHugh, age 87 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center after an extended illness. She was the widow of John H. McHugh Mrs. McHugh was born August 26th 1927 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Anthony J. Rogers and Doracella (Norvillas) Rogers-Ladun. Ann was a graduate of Croft High School and spent many years working in the retail and restaurant industry as a bookkeeper, retiring from the Tie Shop Company. Ann enjoyed going to the theaters in NYC and was a movie and music buff and was a huge Julie Andrews fan and also enjoyed taking trips to the Jersey Shore. She was a parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church. Among her survivors are her sons, Michael McHugh and his wife, Vicma of Thomaston, Patrick McHugh of Waterbury, her daughter, Ellen O’Hara of New York, and her grandchildren; Michael Shawn, Robert, Kevin, Kelly, Ian and Keegan. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony and Valentine Rogers, Joseph Ladun and her sister, Elizabeth Haycock. Funeral services for Mrs. McHugh will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30a.m. at Eastside Memorial, A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Ann’s family on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
