David Turiel, 84, of Westport husband of Janet Hanson Turiel passed away Friday, July 3rd at home. Mr. Turiel was born April 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York son of the late Jack and Rachel Turiel and has been a resident of Westport for the past forty years. He attended Brooklyn College and prior to retiring in 1989 Mr. Turiel owned and operated DiPierro Turiel , Inc., a Photo retouching business in Manhattan, NY. 1968 thru 1989. He loved to read mystery novels and the New York Times, and he enjoyed listening to Jazz and Big Band Music. He considered the time he shared with his family, children and grandchildren most important in his life. Survivors in addition to his wife Jan of 50 years, include one son, Josh Turiel and his wife Jane Ann Howlett turiel of Salem, MA. one daughter, Amy Rachel Turiel Pavia and her husband Joe of Rowayton, CT. two brothers Solomon Turiel (Diane) of Weston, CT and Isaac Turiel (Ellen) of Berkeley, CA. Four grandsons, David Turiel, Jack, Charlie and Sam Pavia. In honoring the wishes of Mr. Turiel all arrangements will be private.
