Crucita Rios, 86, of Meriden, wife of the late Pedro Rios, died peacefully in her home on Monday, July 27, 2015. She was born January 6, 1929 in Aguada, PR. Crucita loved to cook and sew and especially looked forward to her Sunday family dinners. Every person who knew her got to know her as their own “Mamacita” She is survived by her children, Toñita Rios, Reyes Torres, Rate and Maria Rios, Jay (el nene) and Margarita Rios, Benny and Pedro Lopez, Nilda and Carlos Sanchez and Mimi and Milton Mercado. She is also survived by her sisters, Adin Vazquez, Iris Morales and Maria Caro and a brother, Elido Morales. She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, several great-grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren, including her most recent love and joy, Gianna and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Pablo and Alejandro Morales, her sister Delia Diaz, her grandson Elmis Torres, her great-grandson Dalton Rios and her sons-in-law, Hiram Torres and Ramon Lorenzo. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT on Tuesday (TODAY) July 28, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm. The family would like to thank her caregivers from Caring Hearts as well as her close friends who remained by her side. You will always hold a special place in our hearts for the love and care you provided.
