George “Bumnum” J. Scott, Jr. November 14, 1945 – July 25, 2015 Norwich – George “Bumnum” J. Scott, Jr., 69, of Sylvian St., formerly of FL, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Backus Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. God took home a good man, father, and friend. Born in Norwich on November 14, 1945 he was the son of the late Gerard J. and Mary Ann (Colona) Scott, Sr. Mr. Scott was the former owner of Scott & Sons Auto in Plainfield and enjoyed racing his car at Waterford Speedbowl. After moving to Lakeland, FL, where he enjoyed the sun, he opened his own home remodeling company. Surviving is a son Michael Scott of Norwich, four daughters Kathleen Scott and Geri Scott both of Norwich, Tabitha Scott of Griswold, and Anita Scott of NH; a sister Joan Scott of Groton; stepson Edward Scott of Preston; cherished friend Patricia Scott of Norwich; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends in Lakeland. He was reunited in heaven with his parents and son Joseph Gerard Scott. You will never be forgotten our father and friend. We will always love you and miss you.
