Livingstone, Andrea L.

Andrea L. Livingstone of Avon, Connecticut passed away on June 21, 2017. Andrea was the second child born to George and Georgianna Livingstone of Wakefield, Massachusetts on April 19, 1950. She was pre-deceased by her mother, 1991, and her younger brother, George, 2013. Andrea is survived by her caring and loving spouse, Beverly Duncan of Avon, her father George and his wife, Hee Won, her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bob White of Florida and their children and grandchildren, her sister-in-law Linda Livingstone, niece and God-child Anne and nephew Grey of Wilton, Connecticut, her uncles Carl and Philip Livingstone, and their families, and her extended family of the Duncans and Hathaways.
Andrea adored her golden-doodle, Abe, who was a source of great joy in her life.
Andrea’s early education was in Wakefield, Massachusetts schools where she was fortunate to have outstanding band and marching band experiences and incredible challenges in the choral program. She attended the Hartt School of Music, majoring in Music Education. She taught vocal and instrumental music at Bugbee, Whiting Lane, Wolcott and Webster Hill Schools in West Hartford. For several years Andrea had the honor of being a conductor of the Inter-El choral and instrumental groups.
Andrea was a member of the Asylum Hill church choir and was dedicated to the various ministries of her church including the “Step Up, Step Out” program, a group dedicated to ending the culture of violence.
Andrea’s year-long struggle with leukemia was eased by the loving and professional care of the staff of Hartford Hospital, who endeared themselves to her and her family. She stayed strong and courageous, and faced each new challenge with hope.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday (June 30) at 10:00am in Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave., Hartford followed by a reception in the church hall.
