Michael Patrick Quinn, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born September 12, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert George and Marie Elizabeth Quinn, and his brother Raymond Edward Quinn.
He is survived by his brother Robert Quinn, his sister-in-law Paula (Quinn), his niece Meghan-Elizabeth (Quinn) and her husband David Tilove, his cousin Anne K. Kenney and her husband Frederick Tiffany, his cousin Daniel Kenney and his wife Robin, his former wife Martha Noblick, and his many friends and extended family in Connecticut and Ohio.
Mike retired from the University of Connecticut Health Center after many years as a computer Programmer/Analyst. He then devoted himself to helping others through his work at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford, CT. He served many roles in his parish, most memorably his work with the Cathedral’s Food Pantry, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and Homefront. He received the 2013 Parish St. Joseph Medal and the 2017 Archdiocesan St. Joseph Medal. He made many deep and meaningful friendships in his parish family.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from 7 to 9 PM at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10 AM, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cathedral’s Food Pantry and/or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
