Elizabeth “Betty” (Muldoon) Gagnon, 89 of Manchester, formerly of East Hartford, died Monday August 21, 2017 at a local convalescent home after a brief illness. Betty was born in Manchester on July 29, 1928, one of six children of Robert and Harriet (Adamson) Muldoon. She was raised in Manchester, graduated from Manchester High School and was a resident of East Hartford from 1957 until 2016 when she moved to South Windsor. She was employed at the Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford from 1965 until 1983, and was then employed at the American Eagle Credit Union from 1988 until 1993 . Betty was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Manchester and a member of the Travelers Retirees Club. She is survived by four daughters, Charlene A. Hunter and her husband John of Coventry, Bonnie G. McHugh of Manchester, Joanne B. Gagnon of Vernon, and Laura G. Medbury and her husband Bret of Oak Harbor, WA; six, grandchildren, Kelley Hunter-Morales, Christopher Hunter, Nicole Pastor, Stephanie McHugh, Katherine McHugh, and Kevin Uriah; nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, John Muldoon, Robert Muldoon, Harriet Risley, Violet Benway, and William Muldoon. Betty’s family would like to thank the entire staff at The Village at Buckland Court for making her last year enjoyable and engaging. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Sept. 6, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 41 Park Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester.
