Pedro “Cano” Carrero Jr., 67, beloved husband of Lillian Roman Carrero, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rincon, Puerto Rico on May 6, 1950, he was the son of the late Pedro and Ramona (Cordero) Carrero. Pete was employed by Pratt and Whitney Co. with 35 years of service. He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He loved dancing salsa and spending time with his family especially with his soulmate Lillian and his grandson. Besides his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his son, Alvin P. Carrero and his wife Jessica of Willimantic, a daughter, Amy Carrero of Meriden and a grandson, Etzio Carrero of Willimantic. He is also survived by three brothers; Jesus “Jay” (China), Efrain “Eddie” (Lucy) and Benjamin (Janete) Carrero and eight sisters; Ramonita “Tata” (Angel) Baez, Evelyn Carrero, Nancy Napolitano, Dolores (Antonio) Rivera, Jennie (Quilvio) Cruceta, Margie (Johnny) Ortega, Julia (Jeff) Zirlen and Blanca (Gene) Pierce and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother David Carrero. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J.
