Samuel E. Smith was born on October 11, 1944 in New York City and departed this life on August 16, 2018. He was the only child of the late Samuel Eugene Smith and Annie Ruth Cooper Smith. He was raised in the Bronx, NY and maintained contact with his childhood friends throughout his life.
Samuel earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Hunter College, CUNY and had credits towards a Masters Degree.
Samuel and Deborah A. Smith were married on June 14, 1980 and they enjoyed 38 years of cherished memories together. They lived in Connecticut for over 40 years. Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church was their place of worship.
Samuel was self employed as a private investigator for over 25 years. Being a salesman at heart, Sam was a ‘people person’ and excellent at negotiating deals. He could sell you the shirt off your back. He enjoyed listening to old school music especially while traveling. Samuel and Deborah enjoyed attending family reunions, music festivals, and gatherings with friends and family throughout their life together.
Samuel was predeceased by sister-in-law Josephine Slade of Temple Hills, MD.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Deborah, sister-in-law Karen Davis (Andre) of Jamaica, NY; niece/goddaughter Tiffani Elliot (Corey) of Austell, GA; niece Denean Johnson of Upper Marlboro, MD; special childhood friends David Carson, Everett “Butch” Sullivan and Craig Miller; a host of great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
