Charles L. Granger, 78, was born in Kinston, NC on March 31, 1940 and entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2018 in Ellenwood, GA. He was the only child of the late Bertha Granger; and lived most of his adult life in New Haven, CT.
Charles loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his lifelong friends Jimmy, Reno and Moose.
Charles graduated from James Hillhouse High School and was employed as a New Haven police officer. He quickly moved up the ranks to become one of the finest Detectives in the city. He retired from the police force after 20+ years of service and joined Amtrak shortly thereafter. He was a member of the Railroad Workers union and retired from Amtrak in 2009 while living in Trenton, NJ.
Charles is survived by his four (4) children Dawn Granger of Texas; Brandon Granger and Sheena Guest both of California; and Tina Zayas of North Carolina. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, a special cousin Robin Jenkins and a host of other cousins and close friends.
