Augustin James

Augustin James, 67, departed this life on August 30, 2018. He was born on June 22, 1951 in Saltibus, St. Lucia to the late Robert and Josephine James. Augustin was a self-employed contractor; his business was known as Top Job Remodeling. Augustin was a great Domino player and was a member of the St. Lucian Domino team. He was a very hard working man, humble man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed entertaining and also liked to go on cruises.

Augustin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Cynthia James; sons, Peter (Tracy) James of Windsor, CT, Augustin James, Jr. of Syracuse, NY and Tyler James of Windsor, CT; daughters, Henrietta (Nugent) Edgar of Schuylerville, NY, Josephine (Titus) Wilton of Lancaster, NY and Chelsea James of Philadelphia, PA; brothers, Cletus “Tall Joe” Edward of Piyae, St. Lucia, James “Boney” Simon of St. Croix and Phillip “Gillar” Simon of Hartford, CT; sisters, Dorina Marquis of Black Bay, St. Lucia, Valerie Hensley of East Hartford, CT and Elizabeth “Baba” Simon of Piyae, St. Lucia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Dunstan James and one sister, Myrna Simeon.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Justin Church, 230 Blue Hills Avenue, Hartford, CT at 10:00AM with a wake on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service, 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield, CT from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Interment will take place at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT.   1. Augustin James has been a wonderful client and a great friend over the years. I am so saddened of our sudden loss although he has had health challenges. I will miss his smile and our discussions on politics. Augustin was a good business man but he was fair with all people he did business with. I knew him well and appreciate his decency.
