Robert Peter Pielli Sr., age 82, of New Milford, CT, passed away peacefully at his home on September 6, 2018, surrounded by his family.  Bob was born in New York City, 1936 to the late Anne Pielli.  He married the love of his life, Kathy, in 1959 and settled in New Milford, where he helped raise four children. Robert initially was employed by Kimberly Clark but then moved on to his passion, photography and started his own business, Portraits by Pielli. Most of his work was in wedding photography but commercial and private work as well.

Prior to being married, he joined the Marine Corp in 1954-1958, and was stationed in Camp Lejeune, SC and in Okinawa.  He credits the Marine Corp for saving his life.  He was a Life Member of the NRA and devoted time as a safety ranger at the Northwest CT Sportsmen’s Association Club.  Target shooting was another passion of his.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy, and their four children, Lisa (Jim), Laura (Art), Chris (Caroline), Robert Jr. (Andi) and six beloved grandchildren, Kyle (Barbara), Lily, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Jack and Ian and one great grandchild, Calliope Isabella.  He is also survived by his cousin, Edwina Andreuzzi of NYC and his sister, Angela McCabe, of Long Island.

There will be a private family gathering of close friends and family.

Bob was an eternal optimist. He tried to always see the beauty where it was once forgotten.

Arrangements by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
