David Ronald Hoos

WOLCOTT- David R. Hoos, 65, passed away on Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital.
He was born in Buffalo, NY, on June 30, 1953, the son of Dorothy (Hering) Hoos, and the late Ronald W. Hoos. He graduated from Wolcott High School. He was a former Police officer with the Wolcott Police Department and worked for many years at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
David was an avid hunter and enjoyed trips to Maine hunting Bear with his friends. He was a member of the Bristol Fish and Game Club.
Besides his mother with whom he resided in Wolcott, David is survived by two sons, Ronald Hoos of Winsted, Andrew Hoos of Norfolk, two grandsons Evan and Carter Hoos of Avon, three sisters Linda and her husband Charles Trombley of Naugatuck, Joann Hoos and her wife Patricia Matisz of Buffalo, NY, and Susan and her husband Burton Hale of Wolcott.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visit for online condolences and directions.
